Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to the most common questions about Justice For Freeze.
Who is Freeze?
Freeze was a long-time Toontown player with a positive reputation in the community. Supporters describe Freeze as a dedicated player who never engaged in harmful gameplay. His ban shocked many because it seemed out of character and unjustified.
What is the Justice for Freeze movement?
Justice For Freeze (JFF) is a movement supporting Freeze, a Toontown Rewritten toon unfairly banned after being falsely linked to greening through a shared VPN. Instead of investigating, TTR moderators banned Freeze and later rejected his appeal, even banning his real IP. JFF highlights the community’s refusal to accept unfair treatment, uniting players to demand justice and stand against wrongful bans.
What is “greening”?
“Greening” is a Toontown slang term for sabotaging other players during battles by deliberately causing them to go sad (lose all their laff). It’s one of the most serious offenses in the game, and accounts found guilty are usually permanently banned.
Why was Freeze banned?
Freeze was connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for his own privacy and safety, not knowing that someone else was using that same VPN to break Toontown Rewritten's Terms of Service by sabotaging others' gameplay. When the VPN's IP address was banned by the Toontown Rewritten moderators, Freeze's account was also banned due to the haphazard and careless way Toontown Rewritten handles IP bans.
Is “Justice For Freeze” only about unbanning Freeze?
Not entirely. While unbanning Freeze is the core goal, the movement also calls for:
Clearer moderation policies.
Better evidence standards before issuing permanent bans.
Improved communication between the Toontown staff and players.
What does JFF aim to achieve?
JFF seeks to:
- Reinstate Freeze's account: Advocate for the reversal of Freeze's ban and the restoration of his account.
- Promote transparency: Encourage Toontown Rewritten to provide clearer communication regarding moderation decisions.
- Ensure fair treatment: Advocate for fair and unbiased treatment of all players within the community.
Why doesn't Freeze make a new account?
Unfortunately due to the way Toontown Rewritten has chosen to handle his ban, Freeze is not permitted to make a new account, and all accounts he may make would be terminated.
Has Toontown Rewritten addressed the issue?
Beyond denying Freeze's appeal and banning his real IP, they have not issued any public statement on Freeze's situation. However, attendees of Toonfest Orlando 2025 were told by Joey Ziolkowski, one of the founders of Toontown Rewritten, not to engage with "controversial" groups such as Justice For Freeze.
